GUIDELINES
Guidelines on Your Right to Reasonable Accommodation
The ADA mandates that effective reasonable accommodations, absent undue hardship, be provided to qualified persons with disabilities, as defined by law, to ensure individuals are provided equal access to any programs, services, or activities of the District, and any benefits and privileges of employment are applied to everyone.
Guidelines for the Recording of IEP Section 504 Meetings
The Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA") provides that no qualified person with a disability shall, by reason of such disability, be excluded from participation in, or denied the benefits of the services, programs, or activities of the School District. The ADA applies to IEP/Section 504 meetings in the same way as it does to other District activities. Therefore, the District will provide reasonable accommodations to persons who are disabled within the meaning of the ADA. Recording an IEP/Section 504 meeting may constitute such an accommodation, but the District may elect to provide an accommodation other than recording so long as it is reasonable under that law.
Lactation Accommodations Guidelines and FAQs
The District provides "reasonable break time" to employees who are nursing mothers to express breast milk for up to one (1) year after the birth of their child, in accordance with the Federal Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the Providing Urgent Maternal Protections for Nursing Mothers Act (PUMP Act). Employees will be offered an appropriate space to use, other than a bathroom, that is shielded from view and free from intrusion from coworkers and the public.
