ATHLETIC PRESERVATION FUND:
Partial proceeds from sports marketing and sponsorships are reserved for the preservation or enhancement of district wide athletic programs. The fund designated for these receipts is called the Athletic Preservation Fund.
As of August 1, 2022, more than $850,000 has been deposited into the Athletic Preservation Fund through the lease of naming rights to companies that value the close association with our schools. The fund has provided athletic trainers for high school football teams during pre-season training, the purchase of high school girls’ lacrosse helmets district-wide and the acquisition of competition wheelchairs for Special Olympic secondary school basketball athletes. Our most recent investment from the Athletic Preservation Fund was used to supply each of our 22 high schools with a digital scorers' table.
Thank you to our naming-rights sponsors McCoy Federal Credit Union (McCoy Federal Credit Union Athletic Complex, at Boone High), Nemours Children's Health System (Nemours Stadium, at Lake Nona High), and Baptiste Orthodontics, (Baptiste Orthodontics Stadium, at Wekiva High) for their investments and contributions to the OCPS Athletic Preservation Fund. Heller Bros. (Heller Bros. Ballpark, at West Orange High) is a past supporter of the OCPS Athletic Preservation Fund.
