How to Connect a Home Printer (1:33 minutes)
How to connect to a home printer:
- Click on the "Startup Menu"
- Select "Devices and Printers"
- Click on "Add a Printer"
- Select either "Add a Local Printer" or "Add a Network, Wireless, or Bluetooth Printer"
- "Add a Local Printer" will allow you to connect to a printer using a USB cable
- "Add a Network, Wireless, or Bluetooth Printer" will allow you to connect to a wireless printer
- Select the printer you want from the list of available devices
- Click "Next" to install
Windows will automatically connect to the proper pre-installed driver for your printer. If your printer requires a driver that has not been pre-installed on your laptop, please stop by your school library with the make and model number of your printer to have the driver installed.
If you are prompted to "Share" your home printer, you may want to do so. "Sharing" the printer will allow other devices to connect the printer.
