If you are having trouble with the microphone or speakers on your student laptop, try these troubleshooting steps.
- Exit any Google Meets that you are in.
- In the Windows Search bar or icon (lower left of the desktop), search Troubleshoot Settings.
- In the Troubleshoot menu, scroll down to Playing Audio (speakers) or Recording Audio (microphones) and click on it.
- Click on Run the Troubleshooter.
- A window opens and says "Detecting Problems", then lists your speakers or microphone. If there is more than one option, the default is already checked.
- Click Next to start the troubleshooter.
- Follow the prompts to resolve any issues it finds and to test the results if offered.
- When it is finished, you can Close the troubleshooter.
- Rejoin your Meet and see if it is working better.
