REGULAR MEETING
The Northwest Allen County Board of School Trustees met in regular session on Tuesday,May 28, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Central Office Board Room. Members present: Mary Wysong, John Hilger, Paul Sloffer, Ron Felger and Kent Somers. Also present: ChrisHimsel, Gloria Shamanoff, Bill Mallers, staff, students, parents, patrons and reporters.
Motions herewith mentioned are unanimous unless otherwise stated.
President Mary Wysong called the meeting to order. Motion to approve the minutes of the May 13, 2013 regular meeting as presented by Paul Sloffer; seconded by John Hilger. Motion Carried.
COMMENDATIONS
Dr. Shamanoff presented thefollowing commendations: Alex Bracken, Hickory Center 5th Grade Spelling Bee winner. NACS Elementary students, Orion Chenery, Chase Frech,Kevin Wang, Grace Steensma, Wes Stephens, Sam Parnin and Emily Stopher, for being accepted to attend the Ball State University Big M Math Camp this summer.Carroll High students, Abigail Krocker, Jaycee Chapman, and Julie Ho, for being chosen to travel to Japan and represent Fort Wayne as part of the Fort Wayne Sister City Takaoka Koshimae exchange program this summer. Carroll High Student, Katrina Bard, for receiving an award for her French Haiku poem.
Carroll High Seniors, Luke Garrison, Emily Johnson, and Evan Markley who earned the distinction of Valedictorian and Kelia Li who earned the distinction of Salutatorian for the Carroll High School Class of 2013. Dr. Shamanoff requested the resolution be adopted as presented. Motion to approve by Ron Felger; seconded by John Hilger.Motion carried.

SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT
- SNS JOINT SERVICES AGREEMENT Recommended the SNS Joint Services Agreement, Southwest Allen, Northwest Allen and Smith-Green Community Schools Special Education Cooperative, be dissolved effective July 1, 2014. Following the dissolution,the three districts will establish memorandums of understanding to continue to share special needs personnel as needed, but will eliminate the sharing of special education programs. Motion to approve by Paul Sloffer; seconded by John Hilger. Motion carried.
BUSINESS REPORT
- OFFICIAL TREASURER BONDS Recommended the following Treasurer bonds for the 7/1/13 renewal: Corporation Treasurer $100,000; Corporation Deputy Treasurer $100,000; High School Extracurricular Treasurers $100,000; Middle School Extracurricular Treasurers $100,000; Elementary School Extracurricular Treasurers $50,000. Motion to approve by Ron Felger; seconded by John Hilger. Motion carried.
