The NACS network delivers the appropriate printer options to each computer. It is up to each user to set the desired default printer. Here are step-by-step instructions for doing that. The attached version of these instructions includes screen pictures to help explain the settings.
- The computer must first be logged in while at NACS so the network connection is made and the printer options can be installed to the computer. Click the Start Button in the lower left-hand corner of the screen and select "Devices and Printers".
- Find the printer you are looking for and click "Set as default printer". You will notice that the default printer you selected now has a green arrow next to it.
To change any of the default settings for your printer, right-click on the printer and select "Printing preferences". You can now set printing preferences that will apply each time you send a print job. If you always retain the job*, print on one side, etc, these settings will be automatically applies when you click "Print". The printers are initially set to print everything two-sided to reduce paper usage.
To hold the print job to pick up at your convenience (preferred method of printing), click the "Job Holding" tab and select "Hold Only".
