REGULAR MEETING
The Northwest Allen County Board of School Trustees met in regular session on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Central Office Board Room. Members present: Kent Somers, Liz Hathaway, Paul Sloffer, Ron Felger and John Hilger. Also present: Chris Himsel, Gloria Shamanoff, Bill Mallers, Lisa Harris, staff, students, patrons and reporters.
Motions herewith mentioned are unanimous unless otherwise stated.
President Kent Somers called the meeting to order. Motion to approve the minutes of the February 8, 2016 regular meeting as presented by Ron Felger; seconded by John Hilger. Motion carried.
COMMENDATIONS
Dr. Gloria Shamanoff read the following commendations: Maple Creek Middle students for their success at the recent ISSMA Solo/Ensemble Vocal/Piano Contest. Carroll Middle teacher, Ms. Susan Buttermore, for her recent recognition as Co-Teacher of the Year by the Fort Wayne Museum of Art's Scholastic Art program. Mr. Himsel also commended the CHS Boys Swim team, CHS Culinary Arts team, and CHS Speech team for their successes at recent contests.
ELL SUMMER CAMP PRESENTATION
Nancy Eagle, NACS Curriculum Coordinator, and Barb Kiplinger, CHS World Language Teacher, presented information regarding the NACS ELL Summer Camps.
PERSONNEL/COMMUNICATIONS
A. RESOLUTION Recommended the enclosed resolution seeking permission to transfer a teacher's sick leave from the former employer. Motion to approve by Paul Sloffer; seconded by Ron Felger. Motion carried.
