Health Sciences
Health Sciences workers promote health and wellness. They may work directly with patients to diagnose and treat injuries and disease or work behind the scenes in a laboratory or administrative role. Health Sciences is a robust and versatile career area that can lend itself to many different flexible career paths.
Medical Careers
This class will focus on the student interested in pursuing a health and medical career after high school. Qualities of a healthcare worker along with liability, safety, medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, injury prevention, and health maintenance will be explored. Students will become certified in CPR/AED and First Aid.
Sports Medicine
Students will focus on prevention, recognition, and treatment of athletic injuries. Lower body regions and their related injuries will be identified and students will apply their knowledge through work with athletes during and after school.
Sports Practicum
This course will support the Sports Medicine classes and consists of hours a student spends outside of class time applying skills through work with athletic teams and in the training room at MLHS.
