Moses Lake School District’s very own Nelly McLauchlan was recognized and received the 2019 Latino Legislative Award.
The LCA annual award recognizes six individuals or organizations in the State of Washington that have gone beyond the call of duty, often at great personal sacrifice, to improve, inspire and protect the rights of Latino community members. The students Mrs. McLauchlan mentored over the years and her colleagues have recognized her dedication in making a positive impact on the students she served.
“Her efforts and leadership will be long remembered by the State of Washington”, stated the Board Chair of Latino Civic Alliance, Nina Martinez.
Mrs. McLauchlan was recognized publicly during the 2019 Latino Legislative Day in Olympia which took place on Monday March 18, 2019.
