JROTC – Color Guard

Color Guard Commander

  • Train members of the Color Guard
  • Represent the cadet battalion at activities directed by the cadet battalion commander, cadet battalion XO, or the instructor staff
  • Coordinate uniform, flag, and weapon requirements with the S-4
  • Inspect uniform and personal appearance of Color Guard members

 

The Color Guard consists of a six-person team: Color Guard Commander, National Flag bearer, State Flag bearer, JROTC Flag bearer, and two guards. The Color Guard uniform consists of the Class A uniform and a white ascot. The flag bearers wear a flag carrier and web belts. The two guards carry standard military M1903 Drill Rifles that are detailed and chromed. The Color Guard performs opening ceremonies by presenting the National Colors at all home varsity football and basketball games, community service commitments, musical activities, honor organizations, and they participate in local parades by marching with the battalion. The weekends are devoted to competitions against other schools in the area. The Color Guard practices after school on Thursdays from 3:15 – 4:10.
