Lisa Decker, Deputy Superintendent of Finance & Operations
Lisa Decker serves as Deputy Superintendent of Finance and Operations. The position oversees finance, operations, safety and security, generation infrastructure, and all management services/non-instructional departments. Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Utica College, a master’s degree in Business Management from SUNY Institute of Technology, and a certificate of advanced study as a School District Business Leader from SUNY Cortland.
Before assuming her current role, Lisa served as the MOBOCES Director of Finance/Chief School Business Official for 15 years. Her daily duties included overseeing and managing all aspects of BOCES budgeting, financial controls, state aid payments, finance policies, and inventory control, as well as supporting facilities project planning, grants implementation, and vendor contract negotiations. She managed payroll and business office services for five districts, served as fiscal officer for the Madison-Oneida-Herkimer Worker’s Compensation Consortium, and supervised a number of services, including: health benefits coordination for 13 districts, cooperative bidding for 15 districts and Medicaid data entry for 24 districts. Prior to serving as Director of Finance, Lisa was the Financial Manager for the Mohawk Regional Information Center for five years.
Lisa regularly represents MOBOCES on a local, regional and state level through various School Business Officials groups and she is a Past President of the New York State Association of School Business Officials. She also serves on the MOBOCES Continuous Improvement Team and has served as a guest presenter on school business leadership at SUNY Cortland. She completed a four-day School Risk Management Certification Course and completed the statewide School Business Officials Academy.
