New Visions Advanced Health Science is a Health Related Careers pathway option for qualified seniors that prepares students for a dynamic career in Nursing through rigorous academic instruction and a variety of hands-on experiences in local health care facilities. Expectations include excellent attendance, professional behavior, strong work ethic, and successful and timely completion of assignments and activities. The demanding curriculum includes topics like medical terminology, leadership development, research projects, and diverse patient interactions.
Students will prepared for the TEAS Exam, which is part of the admissions process for several area Registered Nursing programs. Post-secondary Nursing programs typically require applicants to have successfully completed, at minimum, 3 years of high school math and science courses, including Regents level chemistry, before being considered for acceptance.
PREREQUISITE: Students must successfully complete Health Related Careers I in their junior year!
