5th and 6th Grade Science
My name is Amanda Allen, and I teach 5th and 6th grade science. I absolutely love my job! I graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1997 and returned to the district after receiving my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 2013. Teaching has always been a desire of mine, but I took a different path after high school. God led me back to where I am today doing what I was meant to do! I will be starting my 7th year in the district.
I have two children, Summer and Ryan. Summer will be a senior; Ryan will be a sophomore. Both keep me super busy between her cheer activities and his baseball games and practices. I am their biggest fan!
Outside of school, I love spending time with family and friends. I love being outside doing anything from working in flower beds to kayaking.
Over the last 3 years I have discovered that I have a passion for science. Seeing the students get excited about learning makes my job easy and enjoyable! They learn that it is okay to make mistakes, and we can learn from those mistakes.
I look forward to this challenging school year. There will be lots of obstacles for us to overcome, and we will do that together. If you have any questions along the way, please feel free to email me, and I will be more than happy to do what I can to help.
