Staff Profile

Greetings!! My name is Shameka Baker and I'm currently at the start of my 20th year in education and 8th year in administration. I was born and raised in Queens, New York and later moved to Montgomery, Alabama. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and earned my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Alabama State University.

I have been married for 17 glorious years and we have three children together,  one daughter and a set of twin boys.  I love to spend time with my family and going bowling in my free time. I am also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated Selma Alumnae Chapter. 

I love working with children and helping them to prepare for post-secondary education and/or post-secondary employment.  I encourages students to believe in themselves and to always reach for the stars.  My motto is, “Growth is the ability to do the uncomfortable until it becomes comfortable.”
