    2021-2022 School LAND Trust Plan
    Goal #1

    • State your goal. Millville Elementary School will increase the percentage of students at benchmark by 3% from fall to spring as measured by the ACADIENCE assessment in grades kindergarten through fifth for the 2021-22 school year.
    • Add Academic Areas.

             Educational Technology/Library/Media
             English/Language Arts

    ·    Add Measurements. The Millville Elementary School Community Council, utilizing current ACADIENCE data, compared our scores to those of other district schools, and determined reading/language arts to be the most critical academic need here at Millville Elementary School. We will administer the ACADIENCE test in the fall and then again in the spring to measure growth of kindergarten through fifth grade students. The percentage of students at benchmark in the fall will increase by 3% in the spring.
    ·    Add Action Steps and Expenditures.
    1. All students in kindergarten through fifth grade will receive small group, direct reading instruction taught by classroom teachers and trained paraprofessionals. The expected expense for the paraprofessional's salaries and benefits will be $62,000.00.
    2. Teachers will meet, at minimum, after each fall, winter and spring ACADIENCE assessment with the literacy facilitator and principal to discuss student progress, needs, and possible adjustments to their programs to improve learning outcomes.
    3. Necessary software (Follett) will be purchased for the library and continued funding of the Reading Counts program to encourage the student body to read. ($2,500.00)

    Salaries and Benefits
    $62,000.00
    Books, Ebooks, online curriculum/subscriptions
    $2,500.00
    Total: $64,500.00
    ·    Amendment 02/09/2022
Amendment: Our plan was to use our School Land Trust funds to cover the cost of our paraprofessionals this year. Due to being allocated Federal ESSER funds, the cost of our paraprofessionals was covered by those monies. As a result, it became necessary to find another area of need that would aid us in meeting our reading goal. Due to the antiquated nature of the technology in our building, we will be using our funds to purchase teacher computers, classroom amplification systems, classroom computers, classroom projectors, and an additional mobile ChromeBook lab for student use. By updating our technology, our staff will be able to fully access our district curriculum, and students will have access to the needed technology, this in turn will better prepare our students in the area of reading.
    • Amended Goal:  Millville Elementary School will increase the percentage of students at or above benchmark by 3% from fall to spring as measured by the ACADIENCE assessment in grades kindergarten through sixth grade for the 2021-22 school year.
    • Academic Area:  Educational Technology
    • Action Step:  (replacing step 1)
    1. All students in kindergarten through sixth grade will receive small group, direct reading instruction taught by classroom teachers and trained paraprofessionals. We will be updating the technology in our school to better assist our staff in preparing for and providing these lessons. The expected expense for the technological updates is $59,696.00. We will no longer be using any of our School Land Trust money for the salaries of paraprofessionals. The money will now be used to upgrade the technology in our building.
