Dear Harrison Families,
Thank you to the PTA for the BMX Bike Assembly that we had. This assembly was planned for Respect Week and gave the message about following your dreams, listening, and being respectful! Students also got to see some unique talents of skilled BMX athletes as they jumped over some teachers!
Pizzetta Give-Back Night is today, Tuesday, October 21st. This local business is donating back to our PTA a percentage of sales to our community! No online orders, and please mention Harrison when ordering! Please see the flier for more details!
Parent-teacher conferences will be held on November 3rd, 4th, and 5th on the scheduled half days. Parents can sign up for their conferences on the Parent Portal on Friday, October 24th, at 4:00 pm. The conferences will close on October 31st at 4:00 pm! Due to the time for preparing for conferences, please sign up earlier to support our coordination among teachers; the earlier the better. As in years past, all conferences are on Google Meet, and if you need to make other arrangements, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
On November 3rd, 4th, and 5th, the 5th-grade committee is running a snack sale! Please see the following flier for more details and the link to order! Please make sure to place your snacks by October 27th. All snacks will be delivered to your children during the school day to enjoy on the half day!
As we continue to help our students grow into confident, independent learners, we kindly ask for your support in reinforcing these important life skills at home. Each morning, please help your child prepare by making sure they have everything they need for the day and by encouraging them to exit the car on their own. These small moments of independence build confidence and responsibility, and they truly make a difference! As the year progresses, let’s celebrate and praise our children for these efforts. Your encouragement helps them take pride in managing their belongings and in starting each day with independence. This also helps our morning car line move more smoothly, benefiting everyone in our school community.
A quick reminder: we are not calling classrooms for forgotten water bottles, library books, or Chromebooks, or teachers will send them up to call if it is absolutely essential for them to function that day. Students have access to multiple water fountains throughout the building, so please don’t worry about making an extra trip to school for this. We also want to minimize classroom interruptions so that students can stay fully engaged in their learning and time with peers. Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping our children and our community grow stronger every day.
All the schools in Livingston hold monthly Equity meetings. Our goal is to improve culture and community by enhancing inclusiveness. The meetings are scheduled for various Tuesdays every month, starting with today, Tuesday, October 21st. The meetings will be held in our Media Center between 2:50-3:35 pm. If you would like to attend, please RSVP. Going forward, for all other meetings, we would like parents to RSVP by 8:00 am the morning of the meeting by using the following Google form. Since this is going out the day of the meeting, exceptions will be made for visitors. If you plan to come today, please RSVP as soon as possible so we know to expect you as a guest at the end of the school day.
Livingston Public Schools offers families access to the GoGuardian Parent App, which helps monitor student activity on school devices and provides controls outside of school hours. Join our District Technology Coaches for a webinar on Wednesday, October 22nd, at 7 PM to learn how to use the app. Please use the following link to join at that time.
