Summer Music Camps

The School District of La Crosse offers a number of camps for current music students. These camps will teach currently enrolled music students the skills needed for a successful school year in their music courses and co-curriculars. Among the courses offered are marching band camps, show choir choreography and vocal camps, string bass camp, drumline camp, jazz camp. These camps are restricted to students enrolled in correlating curricular courses for the 24-25 school year. Summer Music Lessons

The School District of La Crosse offers free high quality music lessons to students in Choir, Band and Orchestra. The weekly lessons are 30 minutes and are scheduled based on availability of teaching staff. Students should choose lessons at the school they will be attending in the 24-25 school year. Taking summer lessons is recommended for all music students, but especially beginners! In this course, students will work together to learn a color guard routine to a piece of music to be performed in a local parade or standstill community performance. This course is designed for students who have learned the basics of color guard and are ready for a new challenge!

COURSE CANCELED – Recreation for ALL: grades 7 – 9

This is a NEW course focused on bringing together special education students and their peers to work together, play together and laugh together as we explore recreational skills and activities found in the La Crosse area. Subject to change, activities planned for the week are fishing, biking, rollerblading/ roller skating and water fun!

WEB Leader Training and Orientation Day

At the end of each school year, Logan Middle School students entering 8th grade have the opportunity to apply to be a WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) Leader. Students that consistently demonstrate our school’s core values are invited to train with our coordinators for two full days in August to prepare to welcome 6th graders to our school. WEB leaders will participate in and practice leading a variety of community building activities in both large and small groups to prepare for their role in leading our 6th grade orientation event in late August. On orientation day, pairs of WEB leaders will lead a small group of 6th graders through the activities they practiced on training days, help teach students how to open their lockers and read their schedules, and give students a tour of the school. Through training days and orientation day, both the WEB leaders and incoming 6th graders feel an increased sense of belonging and pride in their school.

Elementary PM Theatre: Disney’s The Lion King

This camp will run Monday through Thursday from 12 pm to 4 pm. Students will learn and perform Disney’s The Lion King: Kids. Please note there are two camps covering the same material that meet at separate times. Performances for this cast are Saturday, June 29 at 6:00pm – 8:30pm and Sunday, June 30 at 2:00pm – 4:30pm. Attendance at all performances is required for participation in this performance skills class. Please fill out the Google Form found on the District’s drama website in addition to registering for this Summer School course. Reach out to katelyn@lacrossetheatre.org with questions. Student may only enroll in one of the 2 offered Elementary Theatre courses. (45 students/per course number)
