Arrival

First Day of School

Our doors open at 7:15 am. Parents will be allowed to walk their children to class on the first day of school ONLY. Please park in designated parking spots. Please use the front doors when walking your child into the building on the first day. Bring your child’s supplies if you did not do so at Meet the Teacher.

Students will go straight to their classrooms at 7:15 am on the first day of school, unless they are eating breakfast.

Day 2 - Until the final day of school (May 22nd, 2025)

Students will be required to wear their student ID badges daily. They should wear them with lanyards to school. Students will be issued new ID badges for the 24-25 school year. Replacement ID badges can be purchased for $5 in the front office.

Car riders – Our doors open at 7:15 am. Please do not drop your child off before this time. There is no adult supervision before 7:15 am. Drop off is at the front of the school. Please do not wait for 7:40 to drop off your child. The line will be long, and your child will be late to school.

Bus riders – Everyone riding the bus must register through the MY STOP APP system.

K – 5th students will be able to eat breakfast in the cafeteria daily until 7:35 am. Remember, STUDENT ID Badges are also students’ “lunch cards”.

This year, all students will be able to eat breakfast and lunch free of charge. We recommend you using the online system, School Café, to add money to lunch accounts for any additional snacks or additional lunch items. The cafeteria will not provide change when students make cash transactions. The additional funds will be added to the student’s lunch account.

Our goal is to ensure a safe, orderly and efficient car rider pick-up system. Please be patient with staff and each other during the first week of arrival and dismissal.

We appreciate your cooperation!

After-school car pick-up is at the front of the school ONLY. For safety reasons, pull up to the first available cone #1. Our goal is to load 6 cars at a time. The cones are numbered for organizational purposes only and they do not represent grade levels.

Transportation changes. Please notify the front office staff of any transportation changes as soon as possible with a written, signed, and dated note from home. The school phone line becomes very busy so if you need to make last minute changes plan accordingly. NO transportation changes may be made after 2:40 p.m.

Please display your car-rider tag in a visible location while in the car-rider line or when picking up walkers.

Transportation Information

WHAT TO DO WHEN:

-Your child is absent: Call to notify the school office. When the child returns to school, send a signed note within 5 school days, giving dates and reason for the absence from a parent, medical professional, or court official.

-Your child is tardy: The child must report to the office for an admittance slip before going to class, preferably with a signed note giving the reason for tardiness. Accumulated time of tardies is calculated by minutes in lost instructional time.

-You need to pick up your child early before dismissal time: Go to the office to sign the child out and wait there for the child. Please be prepared to show photo identification. If it is necessary for someone other than the parent/guardian to pick up your child, that person must be named as an emergency contact. Your child will stay in the classroom until the person is there to pick them up. Request to check out your child must be done 30 minutes prior to dismissal of the school day. Accumulated time of early pick-ups is calculated by minutes in lost instructional time.

-You need to make a change to transportation: Parents must not remove students from a bus line or bus. Any change in transportation arrangements for any student requires a written note or phone call to the front office from the parent 30 minutes prior to dismissal of the school day. Emails will NOT be accepted.  Permanent Transportation changes must be made in writing.  A Transportation Change Form can be downloaded.  See Campus Forms, adjacent to this information.

Walkers for Arabella Neighborhood Only-

Students who live in the Arabella Neighborhood have the option to walk to school.  Please ensure you and your students utilize the crosswalk and the sidewalks to enter the school safely.  Parents will meet at this crosswalk with their dismissal tag number to pick up their students.  PK and KG students may not be released if an adult is not present with this tag.
