2020 Graduations Proceed as Scheduled

Jun 26, 2020, 13:38 by Community Relations

This morning, Governor Greg Abbott announced a new executive order in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the reopening of Texas. As part of that order, Governor Abbott prohibits any outdoor gathering in excess of 100 people, unless approved by the mayor of the city in which the gathering is held.

Since Lamar CISD’s graduation ceremonies are being held at Legacy Stadium, the District has been in contact with the City of Katy and has confirmed this order does not impact the graduations scheduled for June 26-30.

All Lamar CISD graduation ceremonies are proceeding as scheduled, with social distancing strategies and proper safety measures in place.

Please check Lamar CISD’s graduation FAQ page for more information and specifics on graduation ceremonies. For additional information and resources, please visit our COVID-19 Updates webpage here.

As always, we appreciate your support and patience as we continue to navigate these unprecedented circumstances.

We look forward to celebrating our Class of 2020 graduates as scheduled.
