LCHS students are SHOWING UP and SHOWING OUT
These past months LCHS has had many accolades to shout out and here are just a few:
Alexovan Hory is named a GATES SCHOLAR. He is one of 300 out of 37,000 to be chosen for this five year full ride scholarship to the university of his choice.
Lady Mustang Softball is Bi-District Champions!
Chloe Lopez participated in the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo where her picture was auctioned for $16,000.
12 students were awarded a total of $23,500 from The George Foundation Youth in Philanthropy Program.
3 students were awarded the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship for $20,000 each.
Marie Jolie Day advance from the 1st round in Principles of Business Administration to the final round of the DECA National Competition in Atlanta, Georgia. She is the only LCISD student to advance.
SkillsUSA Chapter 3696 competed in the SkillsUSA District 9 competition at TSTC. Five of the 6 teams that competed came away with 1st place gold medals.
Vanessa Thomas was selected as the MathCON finalist to compete in Chicago.
Sebastian Ives received acceptance letters to M.I.T, Rice, Cornell, and University of Chicago (as of this writing)
Jade Villa made history as the first Hispanic President of FFA Southwest District 3.
The Mustang Playhouse Theatre Company advanced to Regional Level in UIL One Act Play for the first time in LCHS history. Also, Yamila Ayala, Aren Garcia, Christian Sauceda, and Hailey Winters were given awards for the performances and help.
LCHS TSA Chapter has 18 National Qualifiers and 1 State Officer. The National Qualifiers will compete this summer. Stay tuned to find out the ending of this success story.
Bailee Byrd is now a TSA State Officer. She will work with five other student leaders from around the state to plan state leadership contest, state contest, and attend various functions/conferences for Career and Tech Ed.
