In December, Lake Shore’s Student Government Association (SGA) connected with the P.U.N.T. Pediatric Cancer Collaborative to help raise awareness of their services and provide financial help for an adopted family in the program.

The SGA donated $250 to the Collaborative and adopted a local family whose son is battling cancer. After learning that most of the family's income went to pay for the 10-year-old’s cancer treatment, students purchased and wrapped more than 40 gifts for the six-member family. The SGA would like to thank the Lake Shore students and parents for their generosity, the Lauren Smith Family for bringing this opportunity to Lake Shore, and to the P.U.N.T. Collaborative for allowing us to work with them in giving needed support this time of year.
