Elementary & Secondary Parents Welcome

Can you believe that we are at the end of week two?  I hope that each of you have had the opportunity to see your child’s agenda, the agendas are a great organizational tool.  I actually would like to take a moment to focus on the cover artwork.  Those are OUR talented students!   For the elementary agenda’s we are featuring the work of Aiden Anguiano and Katy Williams.  For the secondary campus we are featuring the work of Ngoc Star Bui!  Our students have tremendous talent and they had to come up with these designs based not on a template but a phrase.  Our desire is to promote a growth mindset with the student, and as the old say goes, “ a picture is worth a thousand words.”  When you see these students please thank them for sharing their talent.

Here is the winning team in Ms. Ingram’s class for the 4th grade Grammar Escape Room!  Each team had 4 Tasks to complete correctly in order to “unlock” the door.  After opening all 4 Tasks, the students escaped!  Awesome grammar review at the same time.

Mrs. Martino's 5th grade science students have been learning about science measurement tools.

Fifth graders in Mrs. Ryan's class worked collaboratively to create the longest paper chain they could with two pieces of paper. They’ve been measured to the nearest 10th of an inch and added the measurements to see how long our class chains were. Communication and creativity was key in this activity.

PTSO Spot light

Parents,

We will be hosting Senior Night on Thursday, September 26th in the Lyon Center from 5:00 - 6:00 pm. We will be going over some important information to help your senior prepare for success after high school. We will distribute class rankings and GPA for all seniors.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Medellin-Keller
High School Counselor

Parents,

Just wanted to reach out with a couple of reminders.

School doors do not open until 7:15 am. So, no student should be dropped off or ride their bike or walk to campus before that time. Starting next week Mrs. Greeness (Assistant Principal) and I will begin calling parents of the students that arrive before that time.

Don’t forget that 3:10 is when cars and/or parents can begin to arrive on campus for dismissal.

Thank you so much for your support of our new Stop, Drop and Go-morning drop-off. We started with PK/Kinder students on Wednesday, today was 1st grade and tomorrow morning we will finish up with our 2nd-5th buildings. It has been an overwhelming HUGE success. Please know that we will continue with this procedure throughout the entire school year.

At Meet the Teacher you were asked to fill out a half-sheet that asked how your child would be getting home. Teachers will be using that sheet to dismiss. If there is a change, it needs to be in writing to your child’s teacher. Also new this year is that no changes in dismissal can be made after 2:45 pm.

Thanks for your continued support!!!

Respectfully,
Terry Leija
