This upgrade will begin with a basic change in appearance from the old look pictured below to the new look that you see above. The old login screen for the Lackland ISD parent portal commonly referred to as txConnect will change to the new login page provided through the Ascender upgrade. This upgrade will give the district more flexibility in design and in functionality. Functionality features that we hope to improve will include streamlining processes to access required health and local forms. Parents will be provided new links to use to access the parent portal on various technology devices. Links will also be changed on the website to support access to the upgraded system. Stay tuned for more information regarding this transition. We will inform you of each of the changes and how they might impact you. Around the District LISD staff finished out 6 hours of learning about the perspectives of deployment from service members, spouses, and students. Many resources were shared to empower and equip staff members to serve our students experiencing deployment and separation. One of the highlights of our workshop included children's book author, veteran, and LISD parent Becky Frederick. Mrs. Frederick shared excerpts from her book Gone Again and shared her personal experiences as a veteran and spouse during multiple deployments. Visit her website to learn more about her books. https://beckyfrederick.com/

Lady Eagles Volleyball by: Lynnae Doulder, junior
Congratulations to our Lady Eagles Volleyball team for a fantastic season! It was a great year with an overall of 25-11. They are bi-district champions after their playoff win against La Pryor, winning 3-1. They advanced to the area game but lost to San Perlita. Three people received district awards: Jazzlyn Littleton (12th) and Ariana Flores (11th) received first team all-district. Kamryn Thompson (10th) received most outstanding hitter in the district. Congratulations ladies! Here’s a quote from senior, Charla Gloria, “I love you all! Thanks for the best season I’ve ever had. It felt too short and I wish all the seniors were juniors sometimes so we could play with everyone again.”

Thank you to all our families and staff who helped make this Fall’s Family Science Night such a success. This year’s theme was Space science. Our stations varied from making shapely rockets to pinwheel-shaped galaxy pinwheels. We also had fun scavenger hunts and balloon rockets. We made cipher codes and constellation viewers. We learned a fun way to remember the order of the planets and how to figure out which objects in the sky are planets or not. We also had some free coloring packets and found our weight on different planets! But I think my favorite part was getting a free homework pass for attending (wink, wink). We can’t wait for the next big family event!
Ms. Thompson’s class went to the high school to cook with the culinary class. We made grilled cheese roll-ups and juice.
Students decorated leaves for our Thankfulness tree in Theater. Thank you for all of you who ordered keepsake items from Art to Remember to benefit our school. Production is in process!! *You can still submit a late order with your online order code at https://arttoremember.com all the way until *January 2nd 2020. If you lost your child's personalized catalog contact Mr. Garcia for your code.
