Sponsored by the PTSO, the festival is an opportunity for clubs and classes to raise money by setting up games, activities, selling food, etc. Every time you and your child participated in an event or bought food with your tickets, know that you had a part in the fundraising and growth of the school! It seemed that everyone had a good time. Some of the booths this year were Ms. Duron’s fish booth, Yearbook’s cupcakes, StuCo’s Dippin’ Dots, Spanish Club’s Mangonadas, PTSO’s shirts, Teen Leadership’s Cake Walk, Freshman Frito Pies, Sophomore’s Pizza, Junior’s Duck Game, and Senior’s Sweets. The Elementary School had Ring Toss, Giant Jenga, Bowling, Potato Sack Race, and the Egg Race. Ms. Polis, the junior class sponsor says that the Fall Festival is “an amazing community building opportunity.”

It’s that time of the year again! The holidays are around the corner and winter is rolling in, Wreaths Across America needs your help. Christmas is the time for giving, so let’s give back to and honor the veterans who are buried at Fort Sam and other partnering cemeteries. s2s and Js2s are recruiting volunteers for a school wide service learning project on Wreath Day. Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible by sponsoring remembrance wreaths, volunteering on Wreaths Day, or inviting your family and friends to attend with you.
For $15, you can sponsor a wreath to be placed on a hero’s grave on December 14th which is Wreath Day. These can be purchased online at bit.ly/staceywreaths or contact Emily Duron at duron.e@lacklandisd.net. If you would like the wreath you sponsor to go on a specific grave, you must fill out the Wreath Sponsorship Form. This can be mailed to Wreaths Across America or given to Mrs. Duron or the Stacey front office.
REMEMBER the Fallen. . . HONOR those who Serve. . . TEACH our children the value of Freedom.

The THSCA Academic All-State Teams recognize high school athletes who excel in the following categories: GPA, class rank and ACT/SAT score. The students below are being recognized as a team member based on their scores in these categories. We applaud them for their commitment and dedication to perform with the highest of excellence academically and on the course.

The 6th-grade AVID students went on a field trip on 11/19 to the University of the Incarnate Word. They were greeted by a student ambassador that gave a tour of the campus, discussed different programs and activities that are held at the campus and answered some great questions that our students came up with to learn more about the college experience. They were also invited to attend a lady's basketball game. Each student received an activity book to be completed as an assignment in Mr. Gordon's AVID class as well as a certificate for a free kid's box meal from the sponsor of their event, Raising Cane's. We look forward to participating in this event again in the future.
