Lackland ISD continues to strive toward improving communication.

ParentSquare is a communication platform. Through the platform, you’ll be able to:

*Receive all district, school, and classroom communication via email, text, or app

*View the school and classroom calendar and RSVP for events

*Easily sign up to volunteer and/or bring items

*Securely receive important documents like report cards and other student documents

For the best ParentSquare experience, we recommend that you download and install the app.  The name is ParentSquare, and it can easily be found in your device’s app store.  If you don’t have a device, no need to worry: the platform is capable of both text and email, and you can log on via the web as well.  ParentSquare receives its contact information from the Ascender Parent Portal.  Please take a moment to make sure that you have the latest contact information on file there.

Parent Square Notifications

Under General Announcements, you can select how often you want to receive notifications for posts. Select Off, Instant or Digest notifications.

Off:no notifications about posts will be sent to you. Emergency Alerts and Notices will still be sent. School Alerts will still be sent if turned on.

Instant:you'll receive an email and/or text and/or an app notification every time a notice or message is sent.

Digest:you'll receive an email and/or text and/or an app notification once a day in the evening with all posts from that day.

The default setting is typically Digest, so that you receive all notices and post messages in one convenient notification once a day. All emergency notifications still come through instantly, and a school can override settings as needed for an urgent message.

Stacey Flashback: Catie Traxler

By: Adrian Hughes, senior

When and for how long did you attend Stacey?
I went to Stacey for 3 years, from 2017-2020.

What are some of your favorite memories of going to school here?
I loved doing drama and yearbook at Stacey. I have continued acting and journalism in college, and my curiosity for the two was built at Stacey! I was in 12 Angry Men in eighth grade, which is still one of my favorite plays.

Were you involved in any sports or clubs?
I did drama club, film club, yearbook, cyberpatriots, student council, basketball, tennis, and volleyball.

How do you think going to a small school compares to a larger school?
I think at a small school, you really get to know all your classmates very well.

Are there any specific challenges you faced due to being a military child?
Moving every 1-3 years my whole life was definitely a struggle. It was not a very positive experience for me, personally. Having to make and leave friends was very difficult, and living on base gave me a very skewed perception of society in adulthood.

Where did you finish school after Stacey?
I attended Stacey High School for seventh grade through freshman year. I went to Stuttgart High School in Stuttgart, Germany my sophomore year, and Lewisand Clark High School in Spokane, Washington my junior and senior year.

Where do you live now and what are you doing currently?
I am majoring in Drama and minoring in philosophy at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington.

What do you do in your free time?
In my free time, I do live comedy in Seattle!

Do you have any words of wisdom for us back here?
My words of wisdom for any Stacey kid is this: Don’t worry so much! Things will turn out alright!

Thank you, Catie!

Least Restrictive Environment: Exploring the Continuum of Services

Tuesday, December 10, 2024 Session # 101176

9am-11am Virtual session # 103424

Support and services for our students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) look different during the school for each person based on that individual's needs. Please join us for this introductory session to the continuum of what special education may look like for students with IEPs including who, where, and when information. Being knowledgeable of these differences and the special education terminology that is used to describe supports and services will help caregivers positively contribute feedback as a member of the IEP Team when making educational decisions on the Least Restrictive Environment.
