National Assistant Principal Week April 7-14

Thank you!

Dr. Amber Greeness

Lackland Elementary

Mrs. Michelle Tarvin

Stacey Jr. / Sr. High

National Assistant Principals Week is a celebration of the unsung heroes in our education system. These dedicated folks work tirelessly to bolster teachers, motivate students, support their principal, create a positive learning community, and face the many unpredictable challenges that land on their desk.

Assistant Principals play a crucial role, and this week is a dedicated time to recognize them for their hard work and commitment to our schools, students, and profession. Please join us in celebrating these incredible school leaders!

The theme for National Library Week 2024, “Ready, Set, Library!,” promotes the idea that in our always-online world, libraries give us a green light to something truly special: a place to connect with others, learn new skills, and focus on what matters most. Find your crew at your library’s author talks, workshops, and book clubs.

No matter where you find yourself on the roadmap through life’s journey—preparing for a new career, launching a business, or raising a family—your library provides an inclusive and supportive community where everyone belongs.

Get ready to explore, become inspired, and connect with your library this National Library Week. Libraries are there for you, all the way to the finish line. National Library Week 2024 will be celebrated Sunday, April 7th through Saturday, April 13th.

Thank you to our amazing library crew!

~PROM 2024~

by: Morgan Wedewer, 9th grade

Stacey Prom 2024 was held at Seaworld's Discovery Point on Saturday, April 6th. The theme was 'Enchanted  Forest", with a wide variety of food, a photo booth and a great playlist. It was magical for all of us to remember. Congratulations to King Kevin Brown and Queen Saniya Willis, as well as Prince Eli McConnell and Princess Danielle Yarbrough.

The prom was put on by the junior class, who did an amazing job with the whole event. And let’s not forget to give a special thanks to class sponsors Ms. Valle and Ms. Strahan, as well as chaperones Ms. Wash, Ms. Peña, Ms. James, Mr. Ochoa, Ms. Parham and Mr. Shelby.

Stacey Flashback: Justyn Lewis

by: Kaylea Frair, 9th grade

Justyn attended Stacey from 2008-2010. After graduation, he received a bachelor's degree in Biology and joined the US Army as an Armor Officer.  He currently works as a chemical analyst at Tito’s vodka and is an entrepreneur, owning and running his own business.

What are some of your favorite memories of going to school at Stacey?

*Some of my favorite memories from Stacey would have to be

making it to the state championship for basketball and breaking

the 800 track record for our school my first year running. My

third best memory would have to be our senior trip. I know a few

of my peers a little better and still keep in touch with a few to

this day. I guess another memory I had was winning prom king

which I didn’t care for at the time but looking back it was pretty

cool lol.

What did you do after graduation?

*After graduation I went to the University of Incarnate Word,

where I graduated with a Biology degree. After that I worked at

Southwest Research Institute for 2 years and then was

commissioned into the US Army as an Armor Officer.

Where do you currently live?

*I currently live in Killeen with my wife and dog Red.

Where do you work/what's your occupation?

*I work at Tito’s Handmade Vodka as a chemical analyst and own

and run my own business called Veterans Mushroom.

Your sister, Janae, went to school here also. How is she, and where does she live?

*My sister Janae is well, she currently lives in San Antonio and

works for the Spurs.

Do you like to watch sports? What’s your favorite team?

*The only sport I really love is basketball and my favorite team is

the NBA is the Los Angeles Lakers, but it’s funny how you get

older and lose interest. I don’t watch sports anymore, only

highlights and playoffs.

What's some advice to give to current seniors at Stacey?

*My best advice for all the seniors at Stacey is to enjoy the time

you have now with each other and use this down time to

capitalize on your plan after graduation. If you don’t have a plan

or some sort of idea you will be wasting time. Trust me I I know a

few people I grew up with who are at the same level they were at

during graduation. Don’t be afraid to reach out to your mentors

and peers for any advice or questions.

Thank you Justyn!

are introduced to the six key steps of how to do this.
The steps covered include:
• Tracking the behavior.
• Understanding why the behavior is occurring.
• Changing events that occur before the problem.
