Administrative Professionals Day is observed annually on the Wednesday of the last full week in April. A strong administration is essential for maintaining office decorum and seamless day-to-day operations. We could not do all that we do at Lackland ISD without their tireless dedication to ensuring that all the “small details,” are accounted for and all the “big moments” are memorable. Thank you for all you do!

Stacey Prom 2023 By: Mia Flores, junior
Stacey's annual prom was hosted by the class of 2024 on Saturday April 15, located at Arnold Hall. It was a night full of dancing, laughter as many memories were made with activities like a caricature artist, photo booth, good food, and a few raffle items. As the night went on, votes were counted and eventually it was time to announce the King, Queen, Prince and Princess. The pictures are available for free download @ http://lisd.cc/prom
The King is Jonas Woodbury, Queen is Cadence Dawson, Prince is Levi Woodbury and Princess is Anias Culberson. Congratulations to all members of the court!
This successful prom could not have happened without the hard work of many people: Thank you to class sponsor Ms. Wash, Mrs. Aristotelidis, Hope McKendree, Devin Metshin, Robbin Popovic, John Sensley, Alex Clabaugh, and Russell Keller. Special thanks also to Cinderella’s Closet, Main Event, Jim’s Frontier, Top Golf and everyone who helped put on this prom. You all made lasting memories and one fun, beautiful night for all that attended.

Senior Spotlight: Rudy Morales By: Curtis Roshio, sophomore |
|
|
Rodolfo “Rudy” Morales came to Stacey over the summer from Harlan High School. He moved to San Antonio in 2020 from South Carolina. Rudy was a member of the cross country team that advanced to state in the fall. He is one of four Stacey athletes that advanced to the regional track meet in Kingsville, where he will run the 800m. 1.Can you tell me about your favorite and least favorite school memories? My favorite high school memory for senior year is definitely being a part of the cross country team and having the honor to travel around competing with the team. 2.What do you want to do after high school in terms of a profession, further education, or a goal, or where do you picture yourself in 10 years?
After graduation, I plan on studying biology and earn my master’s degree in that. Outside of furthering my education, I would like to travel the world and experience different cultures to expand my understanding seeing how everyone else lives.
3.What are your proudest accomplishments, in your opinion?
My entire high school career is kinda a blur when it comes to accomplishments and I feel like I can’t pick just one accomplishment to shine a light on. I have regionals next week so if I break the school record for the 800m that’ll be one of my proudest accomplishments of my senior year.
4. What inspires you in life? The people I surround myself with and wanting to do better than those before me.
5.What would your superpowers be if you were a superhero? If I could have any superpower it would be the ability to teleport anywhere in the universe.
6.Can you tell me about your hobbies or interests? Some of my major interests are hiking, swimming, traveling, and just hanging out with my friends.
THANK You Rudy! |

Did You Know That The United States Has A National Tree ? |
|
|
Is it the redwood, the maple, the pine, the dogwood, or the oak? If you guessed oak, you are correct!
A nationwide vote was hosted by the Arbor Day Foundation and the oak was the top vote-getter!!!
Congress passed a bill designating the oak as our national tree and former President George W. Bush signed the bill. There are more than 60 kinds of oak growing in the United States, and they are prized for their beauty, shade, and lumber. Every year, members of the Arbor Day Foundation plant an average of 22,000 trees a day!! Wow! Pam Torre 6th Grade World Cultures and Geography

Fail Fast Gifted Children: Parenting for Resilience
By Brandi Maynard.
The phrase "fail fast" is frequently used in business and startups but it can also be used to raise resilient gifted children. When parents encourage failure as an option, we are not accepting the idea of failure as the final outcome, rather encouraging children to try new things, take risks, and
learn from their mistakes in order to grow and develop.

Last PTSO meeting of the school year is coming up. We are really trying to rebuild and grow the PTSO and this is where we need help. We need you. We need staff and parents to support us. We have so many ideas and plans for this upcoming year but can not do it alone. If you have ever been interested in volunteering or even holding a position on the board now is the time. We will be voting in the whole board at the next meeting. Every seat is open to vote on. So if this sounds like something you would be interested in please send us a message so we can answer any questions and get your name on the ballot. If holding a board position isn't for you, there are still so many ways to ways to help. We hope you will consider joining us on May 15th @ 5:00 pm in the Cynthia Lyons Center. See you there!
