Admin Alley

Dear Parents,

We will ask for feedback via anonymous surveys to learn more about student and family experiences in Lackland ISD. Students in grades 3 – 12 will complete the anonymous surveys while at school. Parents who do not want their children to participate in the surveys should complete and submit the electronic “survey opt-out” form, https://lisd.cc/studentsurveyoptout Everyone will have the opportunity to take their survey during the Feb. 24 – Mar. 7, 2025 survey window.

The survey results will be used to inform and prioritize our district initiatives. Survey results and the subsequent initiatives will be shared with you and the rest of the community.

We appreciate your thoughtful responses. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact our Director of Federal/Special Programs, Ms. Dayna Guyton at 210-357-5180 or guyton.d@lacklandisd.net.

Lackland ISD continues to strive toward improving communication.

ParentSquare is a communication platform. Through the platform, you’ll be able to:

*Receive all district, school, and classroom communication via email, text, or app

*View the school and classroom calendar and RSVP for events

*Easily sign up to volunteer and/or bring items

*Securely receive important documents like report cards and other student documents

For the best ParentSquare experience, we recommend that you download and install the app.  The name is ParentSquare, and it can easily be found in your device’s app store.  If you don’t have a device, no need to worry: the platform is capable of both text and email, and you can log on via the web as well.  ParentSquare receives its contact information from the Ascender Parent Portal.  Please take a moment to make sure that you have the latest contact information on file there.

Parent Square Notifications

Under General Announcements, you can select how often you want to receive notifications for posts. Select Off, Instant or Digest notifications.

Off:no notifications about posts will be sent to you. Emergency Alerts and Notices will still be sent. School Alerts will still be sent if turned on.

Instant:you'll receive an email and/or text and/or an app notification every time a notice or message is sent.

Digest:you'll receive an email and/or text and/or an app notification once a day in the evening with all posts from that day.

The default setting is typically Digest, so that you receive all notices and post messages in one convenient notification once a day. All emergency notifications still come through instantly, and a school can override settings as needed for an urgent message.

Greetings, GT Families!

February has arrived! With it comes the return of school routines, friendship celebrations, and the unpredictability of the weather.

Multiple Perspectives

One keyway we aim to foster critical thinking in our students is by encouraging them to consider multiple perspectives.

Multiple Perspectives asks students to consider how another person would think about a topic. By encouraging children to view issues or topics from different angles, we help them develop a well-rounded understanding of the world around them.

Sentence Starters for Multiple Perspectives:

How might a professional in the field view ____ differently from the average person?

What opposing opinions have been voiced about ____?
