During the week of November 11-15th, the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and schools across the United States will mark National School Psychology Week (NSPW). This week celebrates the contributions of school psychologists and the important role they play in schools and communities. NSPW is an annual opportunity to recognize school psychologists' work to help children thrive in school, at home, and in life. This year’s theme, “Spark Discovery,” recognizes the work that school psychologists do to help their communities seek out new ideas, effect change, and expand horizons for children and youth. Join us by taking this week to embark on a journey of discovery, explore how each person can celebrate the work of school psychologists, and learn how school psychologists help students, families, and communities every day.
This year's theme, "Spark Discovery," inspired by the NASP Presidential Theme "Catalysts in Action," is meant to evoke a sense of pride in school psychologists' scientist-practitioner training. School psychologists are highly trained in data-based decision-making, including behavioral operationalization and data collection/analysis. To help plan your NSPW voyage, we have planned five days of thematic activities to Spark Discovery with students, families, and school communities.

Parent Square Notifications
Under General Announcements, you can select how often you want to receive notifications for posts. Select Off, Instant or Digest notifications. Off:no notifications about posts will be sent to you. Emergency Alerts and Notices will still be sent. School Alerts will still be sent if turned on.
Instant:you'll receive an email and/or text and/or an app notification every time a notice or message is sent.
Digest:you'll receive an email and/or text and/or an app notification once a day in the evening with all posts from that day.
The default setting is typically Digest, so that you receive all notices and post messages in one convenient notification once a day. All emergency notifications still come through instantly, and a school can override settings as needed for an urgent message. |

Stacey sophomore Eliana Flores was one of ten recipients from around the country of the Frances Hesselbein Leadership Award, a prestigious scholarship that recognizes young leaders committed to service and positive change. During her week in New York at West Point, she learned from graduates, instructors, and peers, gaining hands-on experience in leadership, teamwork, and military training.
The experience had a profound impact on Eliana, teaching her how one person can inspire change by leading with integrity and taking action. She saw firsthand the importance of resilience, accountability, and leading by example.
Motivated by this experience, Eliana is now more focused on making a difference in her community, seeking leadership opportunities and engaging in service projects. The scholarship not only deepened her understanding of leadership but also empowered her to become the change she wants to see.
Eliana is involved in many extracurricular activities here on the Stacey campus: vice-president of Student Council, captain of Robotics team, S2S member, captain of CyberPatriot team, and secretary of sophomore class. She also plays basketball for the Lady Eagles varsity team. |
