Kearney, Mo., October 15, 2024: Yesterday, the Kearney High School Varsity Girls Golf Team earned fourth place in the Class 3-District 4 Tournament at Eagles Landing Golf Course in Belton.

The Bulldogs had a total team score of 420. The individual results included:

  • Kayla Resler – 92 (8th Place & All-District)
  • Jessi Kutch – 103 (tied for 16th Place)
  • Amina Jardak – 111
  • Brooklynn Cheek – 114
  • Malia Fairchild – 119

“Our whole team improved so much from a year ago,” Head Coach Troy Resler said. “They battled hard and earned the respect of everyone here at the District tournament.”

By finishing their rounds at 109 or less, Ms. Resler and Ms. Kutch punched their tickets to the State Tournament, which will be held at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield on Oct. 21-22.

KHS golfers also garner conference and district honors

Kearney, Mo., October 18, 2023: Kearney High School Girls Golf team members JoJo and Jessi Kutch finished their 2023 season with notable results on Oct. 16-17 at the Class 3 Missouri State High School Girls Golf Tournament.

“Both girls did an outstanding job of playing golf and representing Kearney School District,” Head Coach Troy Resler said. “This has been a great season for our entire team, and I’m proud of the effort put in by all of our golfers.”

JoJo, a senior, shot a 95 on day one and an 89 on day two. She finished with a 184 and tied for 60th place. Jessi, a freshman, shot a 98 on day one and an 85 on day two. She finished with a 183 and tied for 57th place.

JoJo ended her high school golf career as the 2023 Suburban Conference Blue Division Champion, 2023 All-District, and a three-time state qualifier.

“She had a great senior season and a phenomenal high school golf career,” Resler said.

Jessi is one of the very few freshmen to qualify for the state tournament. She finished her first year of high school golf as a 2023 Suburban Conference Blue Division All-Conference honoree (tied for third) and 2023 All-District.

Five Bulldogs earn varsity All Conference honors

The Kearney High School Girls Golf varsity and junior varsity teams both earned second-place trophies at the Suburban Blue Conference Championships on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The championship was held at The Outlaw course at Paradise Pointe in Smithville.

The varsity team ended the day with a score of 419. All five players garnered All Conference honors:

  • Emily Stauffer (Sophomore) – 10th place
  • Anna Tourney (Senior) – 8th place
  • Hailey Parker (Senior) – 7th place
  • Kayla Resler (Sophomore) – 6th place
  • Jojo Kutch (Junior) – 5th place.

The JV team ended the day in with a score of 503. Two JV players garnered JV All Conference honors:

  • Katie Parks (Junior) – 8th place
  • Malia Fairchild (Freshman) – 5th place.

The JV season comes to an end with the Conference Tournament. The Varsity season continued with a match today on Paradise Pointe’s The Posse course against Platte County, Smithville and Excelsior Springs. They then travel to the state tournament this Monday as they will compete in the Class 3 District 4 tournament at Eagle’s Landing GC in Belton.
