Homecoming Parade entry forms are due by Friday, Sept. 20

Kearney School District strives to be a place “Where Dreams Come True,” which is the theme of the 2024 Homecoming festivities that will be held Sept. 23-27.

As in the past, there will be a wide variety of spirit theme days and activities across KSD during Homecoming Week. The week will culminate with a half-day for students on Friday, Sept. 27, so they can enjoy the 2024 Homecoming Parade and Kearney High School football game. Kearney Middle School, Kearney Junior High and KHS will release at 10:30 a.m., and the elementary schools will release at 11:35 a.m. that day.

The Homecoming Parade will begin at 2 p.m. A map of the parade route is included below.

Parade participants are limited to school organizations or our youth sports programs. Qualifying organizations or programs that want to participate should complete and submit the Parade Entry Form to Kearney High School Student Council Sponsor Brittini Starzl before the end of the school day on Friday, Sept. 20.

A downloadable Parade Entry Form can be placed in her mailbox at school, sent via interoffice mail or scanned to her email (starzlb@ksdr1.net). Entry forms may also be completed and submitted online. Late submissions run the risk of not being included in the parade lineup. Ms. Starzl will respond with additional details for parade participants.

Please note that a permission form must be completed by every Kearney School District student who will be participating in the Homecoming Parade. These forms must be collected by float or group sponsors or leaders and must be on hand for the duration of the event.

Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. on Sept. 27 for the KHS versus North Kansas City High School football game at Bulldog Stadium. Visit the KHS online box office to purchase tickets. The game will also be televised by the Bulldog Broadcasting Network and live coverage aired on the radio by KPGZ 102.7FM.

The 2024 KHS Homecoming Dance will be held from 8 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the school. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the door with cash or a card.
