J
oplin Family YMCA's School Plus Program
The Joplin Family YMCA’s School Plus Program is an after school
care and activity program designed to provide a safe, nurturing environment for children in elementary school. It is held on site at local elementary schools from the time school is dismissed until 6:00 pm. There’s time for homework and a balanced snack as well as challenging physical activities and creative pursuits, with supervision and encouragement from trained YMCA staff. All staff are CPR/First Aid certified and have been through a background check. Scholarships are available based on household size and household income. State Aid is also accepted for those who qualify.

Activities are designed for various age groups and skill levels to enhance growth and to encourage learning. The program is available to all area residents, and after-school transportation to the Boys and Girls Club is provided from several Joplin schools. A small fee is required for the program.
