Advisory Boards
The new JHS/FTC will have a much greater reliance on the community to support learning. Advisory groups have existed for years with FTC but now each career path will have its own advisory board to help review curriculum improvements.
On-site collaboration with area colleges and universities
The new JHS/FTC will have a local college presence on our campus. College teachers will be working with our teachers in selected courses or be teaching our students on campus in specialized areas. University and community college partnerships with our teachers will give us an opportunity to better prepare our students for what lies ahead. Informing each other’s practice for the benefit of students will only enhance our program.
Business and community partnerships
In addition, business and community partnerships have been forged to allow students to experience internship opportunities in the community. The expertise of community members will also be accessed for classroom instruction when possible. By combining our teacher’s expertise and the community’s expertise, when practical, we believe we can enrich our student’s educational experiences.
