Video modeling is a teaching method that utilizes video recordings to provide a visual model of a targeted skill. Students watch a video demonstration of a desired skill or task and then practice the skill. Video modeling is an evidence-based practice that increases social-emotional, communication, and behavior skills in children with exceptionalities. In rm. 10 video modeling is used as an instructional aide for teaching routines, communication, social-interaction, play skills, academic/cognitive skills, fine motor skills, as well as behavior.
Motor/Fitness Training:
There is a 20-30 minute recess each session to allow for child-led movement. In the classroom we also incorporate creative movement into our group activities such as music/dancing, and stretching/breathing. Additionally, our class provides students with the opportunity to develop gross motor skills through games and developmentally appropriate activities.
