The Multimedia class at HHS is responsible for the following:

• K-8 Yearbook and HS Yearbook

• Page in Hobart Democrat Chief monthly

• Production of programs, tickets, slideshows, and other desktop publishing projects

• Updating district website

• Any other media needs of the district

EXPECTATIONS:

Media production is a business. There are products to see, people who need these products, the means to produce them, and employees to design, develop and deliver them. You as an employee of this media firm will have a department supervisor who will assign tasks and report directly to the CEO, Mrs. Binghom. As business employees of this firm you are expected to:

• Be at work (class) regularly and on time

• Be mentally prepared to work (all hour)

• Take responsibility for completing the job (assignments)

• When you enroll in Multimedia we consider it to be a two semester commitment since webpages and yearbook pages are assigned during the first semester.

• Learn and be involved in all phases of the business (class projects)

• Maintain a high degree of professionalism and integrity

• Put in overtime hours as needed to meet all deadlines

GRADING: Students will be graded on the following assignments and duties

• Photography

• Ad Sale Contacts

• Feature Writing

• News Article Writing

• Newspaper deadlines

• Weekly webpage assignments

• Yearbook pages

• Yearbook deadlines

• Daily Time Sheet

My parents and I understand that I am making a year-long commitment to the 2017-18 yearbook staff at Hobart High School. I realize that I will be responsible to learn academic skills as well as apply them to the production of all multimedia publications. Evaluation of all students will be made not only on the mastery of skills, but also on their hands-on application and meeting deadlines I also realize that time outside of class may be necessary in order to meet deadlines. By signing this syllabus, we all agree to the above requirements.
