Will we still participate in State Testing?
- English Learners have completed the ACCESS for ELs assessment.
- Students with Individualized Education Plans that indicate they should take the ACAP Alternate but who have not yet completed that assessment will complete it should we return to school before the State window closes on April 10th.
- Students in grades 2-8 scheduled to take the ACAP Summative will take it should we return to school before the State window closes on May 1st.
- HHS students have taken the ACT and ACT WorkKeys already.
**The State could revise their timelines, and that would change the answer above. We will adhere to their directives.**
-
If we do not return to school this school year, how will grades be averaged?
It is too soon to speculate on this. We must wait for further directives from the Governor and the State Superintendent of Education.
-
Will we still have final exams this school year? What will those look like?
At this point, we are scheduled to return to school on April 6th. Classes scheduled to administer exams will administer exams. Missed days of learning will be accommodated in the exam.
-
Will my AP child still take AP exams?
We will align with the directives of the State Superintendent of Education and College Board. College Board is beginning to issue some guidance at https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/about-ap/news-changes/coronavirus-update
You may choose to practice with some of their activities. Additional practices are set to release in April.
(Please note that Guidance from our State regarding testing will supersede this guidance should the two ever conflict. Again, we are scheduled to return to school on April 6th at this point.)
-
Is my child required to do the school work that is posted on Google Classroom or sent home via packet?
No. Your child is not required to do the work at this time. However, parents are advised to encourage their children to do some daily practice in order to keep skills sharp. Should the school closure extend beyond April 6th, the directives from the State may change. At this time, your child is not required to complete the work received via packet or Google Classroom.

Can you connect me with other available resources for keeping skills sharp? I know these would not be required.
