?? A Message from District Attorney Paul Battisti & School Resource Officers
As the school year comes to an end, the District Attorney’s Office and your School Resource Officers would like to extend our congratulations to all students, families, and school staff on a successful academic year.
Prom, graduation, and the start of summer vacation are moments to celebrate—but they also come with responsibilities and risks. Our office is committed to helping protect the safety and well-being of every student during this important time.
?? Underage Drinking: What Parents Need to Know
This season often brings an increase in incidents involving underage drinking. Parents and guardians are reminded of the following:
- It is illegal to provide alcohol to anyone under 21 years old.
- Knowingly allowing minors to drink alcohol in your home—whether or not you provided it—can result in criminal charges under the Social Host Law.
- Underage drinking can have life-altering consequences, including car crashes, arrests, and alcohol poisoning.
Talk to your children about the dangers of underage drinking, peer pressure, and the importance of making smart, safe choices.
?? Digital Safety & Social Media Awareness
Even when school is out, kids remain active online. Parents play a crucial role in promoting safe, healthy technology use.
- Have open conversations about online behavior, cyberbullying, and digital boundaries.
- Teach your children to block, report, and speak up when something doesn’t feel right.
- Familiarize yourself with the tools available:
- Life360 – Location tracking for families.
- Apple Screen Time – Controls usage, blocks content, and limits access during certain hours.
- Android Parental Controls – Monitor app activity and manage content filters.
- Discuss the risks of sexting and oversharing on social media.
Creating a safer digital environment starts with communication and awareness at home.
?? Wishing You a Safe & Healthy Summer
On behalf of the District Attorney’s Office and your dedicated School Resource Officers, we wish all students and families a joyful and safe summer season. Congratulations to the Class of 2025—we are proud of you!
