The Galway Friends of Music (GFOM) is a non-profit organization operating within the Galway Central School District. Its sole purpose is to support the school music program.
GFOM’s general aim is to encourage the active participation and interest of students, parents, friends and the community in the school music program. We participate in fundraising activities which benefit of the music program, coordinate volunteer help to assist the music staff when needed, assist with publicity for music events, and foster school spirit and pride.
A few of our goals are to provide a means for graduation scholarships for seniors continuing in the field of music, purchase musical instruments and equipment to enhance the K-12 music program, and provide some financial assistance for field trips. We also like to recognize students who demonstrate outstanding talent and dedication with end of the year awards.
GFOM hosts a monthly meeting (usually the last Tuesday of the month) at 7p.m. in the high school chorus room. The specific dates are listed in the district calendar.
Please stop by and find out what we are doing for your children’s musical growth.
