Thank you to PALS for their hard work in organizing this event.
Thank you to the Fern Ridge Community Library for sponsoring our event. The Fern Ridge Community Library is a fabulous place for families. Not only is it filled with great books to instill a lifelong love of reading, they have many special events and programs that families can enjoy together.
PALS will be holding its annual auction this year on April 9th. Angie Trent will be heading up our auction this year. The VES Auction is our main fundraiser and helps us to provide field trips, Outdoor School, special events/assemblies, playground equipment, etc. This year’s fundraiser will again be composed of an oral auction, a silent auction, and a raffle.
The Auction Committee has a lot of great ideas but they need your help. They will be having their second meeting on Tuesday, January 19th in the school library. They need volunteers who want to help organize the event, help with publicity, help with decorations, help with donations, etc. They are also still in the planning stages so are seeking out new ideas and suggestions. If you want to be a part of this year’s auction, please plan on joining us for the auction committee meeting on January 19th at 6:30 PM.
In addition, the auction committee is seeking donations for this year’s auction. If you know someone who owns a business or has items or services that they can donate, please ask them for a donation for our school. We accept all items new or very gently used. Every donation helps.
Save the date and plan to join us on April 9th for the best auction ever!!!

PALS will be selling candy canes beginning Monday, December 14th before school, during lunch, and after school. Parents or other family members can purchase a candy cane that will be delivered to their child on Friday, December 18th. In addition to the candy cane, the $1 cost also includes a message tag where parents can write a personal message to their child.
Students can also purchase candy canes for their friends that will be delivered on Friday for $1. Just like parents, students can write a message on a gift tag that will be attached to the candy cane when it is delivered.
So whether its a grandmother sending a candy cane to each of her grandchildren or a student wanting to send candy canes to their friends, this is a great way to let someone know that they are special this holiday season.
Candy canes will be on sale Monday, December 14th thru Thursday, December 17th. They will be delivered to students towards the end of the day on the 18th. Thank you to our PALS volunteers for their work on this fun project.
Families are invited to join us for our annual Holiday Luncheon on Friday, December 18th. Click below for the lunch schedule, menu, and costs.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you all there.
At Veneta Elementary School the holiday season is a time of sharing and caring as we work to support two very important causes in our community- the Kiwanis Canned Food Drive and the S.A.N.T.A. Project
Veneta Elementary students will be participating in the annual Kiwanis Canned Food Drive. Students can bring in canned food and nonperishable food items from now through December 16th. The food will be distributed to local families in need. The class that brings in the most food by weight will win a prize. Over the last five years, in order to continue the spirit of giving classes have donated their prize to local charities like Greenhill Humane Society and Mid-Lane Cares. Continue reading
Exciting News!!!! On Monday, November 23rd and Tuesday November 24th they will be installing our long awaited new glass main doors. This means during parent conferences we will not be able to use the main entrance to the school. Parents coming for their parent conference or to visit the book fair will have to use the old entrance on those two days. If you need to stop by the office, you can enter the office through the staff room just like we did in September. Thanks for your cooperation.
Two fifth grade girls at Elmira Elementary School, Kelly Torres – a cancer survivor and Nancy Coffman, started a “Kindness Counts Campaign”. Their goal is to raise funds to purchase new toys to bless the children at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital for Christmas.
Please join Kelly and Nancy in their Kindness Counts Campaign.
