On Wednesday, February 12, from 9:30-11:30 am in the library, we are offering a drop-in session for senior students to get help with all things related to financial aid and scholarships- completing the FAFSA, Oregon Promise, Lane Foundation, OSAC, or local scholarships, whatever is most important for your future plans. Nomi Pierce will be here to troubleshoot and help students complete or begin the process.

Wednesday evening we will also offer a similar hands-on help session for parents/ guardians (and seniors) from 5-7pm, also in the EHS library. If you have a personal laptop you prefer to use you are welcome to bring it, otherwise we will provide laptops for you to use.

Whether you are far along in the process of finding ways to help pay for college and career training programs, or haven’t even begun (and don’t know where to start) this is a great chance to get hands-on help, or ask questions. Nomi is an expert that we turn to often for questions and assistance!

Semester 1 Finals Schedule

At the time of this post, there are two full weeks remaining in the semester. Please note that there will be no school on Monday, January 20th, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. The semester officially ends on Thursday, January 23rd, and there will be no school on Friday, January 24th to provide teachers opportunity to complete grades.

On the last two days of the semester, January 22nd and 23rd, students will follow a special schedule. Here are the details for finals:

October 30th is EHS Testing Day

All four grade levels will participate in school-wide testing on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

Classes will begin at 8:25 am and end at 1:30 following the Early Release Schedule. All grade levels will report to their homerooms at 8:25.

9th graders are taking the Pre ACT 8/9.

10th graders are taking the Pre ACT.

11th graders are taking the PSAT/NMSQT.

12th graders have the choice to take the SAT or the ASVAB and have already shared their selection with their counselor.

There is no charge to students/families to participate.

REMINDER: There is no school on Friday. Teachers are grading, and midterm progress reports will be sent home to parents during the first week of November.

EHS Progress Grades and Teacher Conference Information

The four-week progress grades for Elmira High School have been updated and can be viewed through Home Access Center and Schoology. Please contact EHS (541-935-8200) if you have any questions or need assistance logging in.

Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for October 17th from 4-8 p.m. in the EHS cafeteria and continue on October 18th by appointment only from 8-12 in teacher classrooms. Please take this opportunity to discuss your students’ progress with their teachers.

Progress reports for the first quarter will be mailed home the week of November 5th.

EHS Homecoming Parade, Game & Dance

Game Details: Friday, October 4th at 7 pm against Pleasant Hill. The gate opens at 5:45 pm.

Dance Details: Saturday, October 5th from 8 pm to 10 pm in the cafeteria. Tickets must be purchased in advance in the main office. For more details call 541-935-8200. Guest passes must be pre-approved by Wednesday, October 2nd.

Parade Details: Friday, October 4th. Staging begins at 3:45 pm. Judging occurs at 4 pm. Staging will occur in the Cup of Joe parking lot. The parade will conclude in the same location. See map below for the route.
