Now that the snow and ice have melted, our district is focusing on the impact the four snow days had on student learning.

The school calendar was revised to restore two school days in June.  School will be in session on June 17 and the final day for students will be June 18.  At this time, the calendar for Seniors remains the same and graduation will take place on June 7.

The Fern Ridge School Board unanimously approved the calendar revisions during their March 18 meeting.  These changes will be updated to the district website calendar later today.

Thank you to our families for your flexibility as we work to ensure that we are providing as much learning time as we can for our students.

FRSD Update: Please pass along. Staff have done a great job today doing what we can to prepare buildings for an anticipated school day tomorrow. Below is some general information.

– Depending on your own situation/location, it is YOUR call whether or not your student attends school. If you cannot make it in, simply let school get underway in the morning and call in later in the day to excuse your students absence.

-We will try to make a decision about a regular or late start by 5:30 AM tomorrow, after driving the side roads.

-Parents should expect snow routes will be used. If you are unsure what those are, you can find them here: http://www.fernridge.k12.or.us/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Inclement-Weather-Packet-ENG-Feb-2018.pdf

-The biggest problem areas will be our parking slots. With all the moving of the snow, we have lost many parking spaces. PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME AND MOVE SLOW IN THE PARKING LOTS!

-Please allot yourself extra time in the morning, as drop-off pick up will be particularly slow tomorrow AM.

-Any staff that can carpool, please do so.

All information and updates will be posted here and “Superintendent Carpenter” facebook page.   If we have a regular start time tomorrow, it will be posted here. If you DO NOT get a phone call in the morning, we are starting on time.

Kindergarten Information Night for 2019-2020

Tuesday, March 12th, 2018 6:00-7:30 pm

Elmira Elementary is excited to offer an evening of information for our incoming Kindergarten families.

For many children, Kindergarten is the beginning of their education and their first steps outside the familiarity of home. For many parents, it’s the start of a relationship with their public school system.

In Kindergarten, students develop a love for learning. They begin to feel comfortable in a new environment as they advance their basic skills such as working with others, listening, and sharing.  Throughout the year, students will expand their academic skills in reading, writing, and math.

Elmira Elementary strives to give parents and students the right start in education by caring for and understanding each child’s needs and each parent’s concerns. We encourage parents to contact us whenever they have questions or concerns.
