CHAMPIONS!
The Freeport High School varsity cheerleading team earned first place in the coed Traditional Division at Newsday’s 3rd Annual Cheer Fest, scoring an outstanding 95.00, nearly 15 points ahead of the competition!
Held on January 11 at Hofstra University, the event featured 47 varsity cheer teams from across Long Island, showcasing elite talent in both Game Day and Traditional routines. Freeport’s high-energy, technically strong performance rose to the top and earned the highest score in its division.
Head Coach Laurie Kolodny called it one of the finest performances of her career, while Assistant Coach Erin Dean praised the team’s dedication and work ethic.
Shoutout to standout student-athletes Mya Grayson, Alexis Sewer, and Jeffrey Deras Moya, along with the entire team, for their precision, teamwork, and incredible presence on the mat.
