Camp Colton Construction Update

Winter 2024 Update

Construction at Camp Colton is wrapping up for the winter and will resume in the spring. Over the past several months, KCS has made significant progress on key infrastructure improvements to enhance accessibility and expand facilities at the camp.

Key Updates:

• Extensive site work and preparation were completed for a new school bus turnaround and the future lodge.
• A new water tank and septic line were installed to support upgraded facilities.
• Roads and access areas were expanded to improve transportation and logistics.
• The stem walls for the new lodge are complete, and the concrete pad is prepped for pouring in the spring.

These upgrades will support a better experience for students and visitors while ensuring the long-term sustainability of Camp Colton’s outdoor education programs. Stay tuned for more updates as construction progresses in 2025.
