Dear Families:
We are extremely excited to announce that this summer we will have required summer reading for all middle school students. Research shows that reading over the summer reduces summer slide and promotes academic success throughout the school year.
All summer reading assignments should be submitted on the first day of school, September, 2025. Assignments should be completed using the student’s EHT google drive and either shared with their teacher or printed out prior to the first day of school.
5th, 6th and 7th grade:
Students have spent the year in a reading workshop and to continue to foster that love of reading, we want students to choose a book to read over the summer that she/he is interested in and has NOT already read. We have recommendations from our school librarians, but the choice of text is up to you and your child.
8th Grade:
Future EHT High School Students are given a specific assignment by their 9th grade teachers including required texts from which to select. Please click the link below to learn more.
