*Every senior is being honored on the digital sign in front of Imprint Logo. Imprint Logo is located at 250 South Bridge Rd. (St. Rt. 269) Lakeside, Marblehead, Ohio. A big thank you to Craig & Kellye Stephens (owners of Imprint Logo) for providing this courtesy to the “Class of 2020”.

*Every senior will have a congratulatory senior sign that will be displayed in front of the school/stadium sometime in the next 7-10 days. I will send out a schoology message to inform you when those signs are up for you to see them.

*We are using your senior group picture, which was taken by Lifetouch last October by the Lighthouse, and placing it on 2-3 billboards around the peninsula area. I will message you the exact locations when the billboards are finalized so that you can see them.

*We are currently organizing a senior graduation parade with assistance from the Danbury Township Police Department and the Lakeside-Marblehead Fire Department. This driving parade will take place on Sunday, May 17th beginning at 1:00 p.m. If students would like to participate, they should be in the school parking lot ready to go by 12:50 p.m. Students should decorate their vehicles for this drive around the peninsula, which will last approximately 20-30 minutes. Additional information will be sent out on schoology and through the senior remind app in the coming days.

*We will be posting “Senior Spotlights” on our school facebook page in the coming days. If you have not filled out the survey that was sent to you via schoology last week, please submit that survey ASAP (here: https://forms.gle/K2CCDsRSwbJccYs8A). The survey should only take a few minutes for you to complete and the information that you provide in the survey will be included in your “Senior Spotlight”.  

*We will be conducting an individualized graduation ceremony for all of our graduating seniors on Sunday, June 14th beginning at 2:00 p.m. All of the details pertaining to this graduation event will be coming to you in the mail in the coming weeks.

On Wednesday, April 29th from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Josten’s will be distributing senior caps, gowns, announcements, & other graduation items in a drive thru format in front of the athletic lobby. Students may enter the west entrance parking lot by the football practice field and drive up to the athletic lobby entrance to get their items.  Students may only pick up items that have been paid for in full.  You can bring cash (sorry, no checks) on the 29th or you can go online to the Josten's website and pay by using a credit card.  Once you have received your graduation items you will exit the school parking lot by the cafeteria. Students will not need to get out of their vehicle and all personnel helping to hand out your graduation items will have face masks and gloves for the protection of all parties involved.

As you may already be aware, Governor Mike DeWine announced an extended closure of public schools in Ohio this afternoon.

Danbury Schools will be closed beginning Tuesday March 17th for 3 weeks.

The district is awaiting further clarification from the Ohio Department of Education regarding the specific details of the school closure mandate.

Based on Governor DeWine's executive order pertaining to mass gatherings, our Cabaret performances are cancelled. Other event cancellations will be shared out.

We will communicate out additional information when it becomes available.

With the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continuing to be on people's minds, I want to provide this update.

Gov DeWine shared yesterday that Health experts have recommended not closing K-12 schools in Ohio at this time, DeWine said. But he added that school teachers, staff and parents should prepare for the possibility of that happening in the future.

Any decision on closure of schools in response to the Coronavirus would be made in consultation with the Ottawa County Health Department, Ohio Department of Health, and other health officials. (These preparatory conversations are currently occurring)

In preparation for the possibility of an extended closure, we have begun to review and bolster our plans for continuing education for our students and will communicate that with you as soon as we shore up the many details.

In regards to any absences whether due to illness or out of caution will need a doctor's excuse or will count as unexcused. HB 410 rules still apply until / unless we hear otherwise.

As a reminder we continue to proactively disinfect our buildings as a precautionary measure.

As your superintendent I can assure you that I am in constant conversation with ODE, Ottawa County Health Department, area superintendents etc. Much of the necessary protocols/guidance documents for k-12 education are still being put together to be shared out by these important agencies. I'm looking to follow their recommendations as it pertains to our next steps.

Due to the potential snow covered roads, ice, and high winds Saturday, 1/18/2020:
-JV/V Girls Basketball game vs. Gibsonburg has been POSTPONED and will be played on 2/15 with JV starting at 12:00 PM and Varsity at 1:30 PM.
