• Thanks to our community donors, Charlotte Technical College can provide students with scholarships that help the student to pursue workforce training programs that will enable career or college placement. This information will help you to be able to review the requirements and complete the application. 

    Some of our community donors have set requirements for their scholarships; therefore, it is very important to complete all requirements of the application. 

    FOR ALL SCHOLARSHIPS, YOU MUST COMPLETE A FREE APPLICATION FOR Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) TO QUALIFY.

    Preparing to Apply for the CTC Scholarship

    • Complete a FREE Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
    • Make an appointment with the Financial Aid Counselor to review your FAFSA Submission Summary which shows each student's Student Aid Index (SAI) and is required for all scholarships.
    • Download the application first from the website and then type your responses directly onto the application. (Click here for the application)
    • Complete a 250-word essay (Typewritten)
    • Have your instructor complete the Letter of Recommendation
    • Submit the typed application, essay and letter of recommendation to the school store office.

    CTC Scholarship Eligibility Policy

    To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    1. Completion of a minimum of 300 clock hours within the program of study.
    2. Must maintain an overall grade evaluation of 80% or higher as determined by the individual program of study. 
    3. Students may not accumulate more than 5% missed clock hours during the program of study, thus, a 95% attendance rate or higher is required.

    These criteria are designed to recognize and reward individuals who have excelled in their chosen field of study, showcasing a dedication to academic achievement, attendance, and practical experience within their program.

    CTC Scholarship Approval Frequency Policy:

    1. Monthly Approval Cycle: Scholarships will be approved on a monthly basis, and decisions will be made within a specific timeframe following the monthly review.
    2. Fixed Approval Schedule: The approval process will adhere to a predetermined schedule, ensuring consistency and predictability for applicants.
    3. No Interim Approvals: Outside of the monthly approval cycle, no interim or off-cycle approvals will be granted to maintain fairness and consistency.
    4. Application Resubmission: Applicants whose submissions were not approved in one cycle may reapply in subsequent months for consideration.

      By adhering to this scholarship approval frequency policy, we aim to establish a clear and structured process, ensuring fairness and equal opportunities for all eligible applicants.

    Determination Process

    • Scholarship recipients are selected based upon the specific criteria made by each fund's donor. Scholarship applications are internally vetted for the completion of all required elements. 
    • Every application is reviewed by the CTC Scholarship Committee which consists of the Director, Assistant Directors, Financial Aid Counselor, Secondary Career Specialist, Post-Secondary Career Specialist, and Bookkeeper. 

    Notification of Scholarship Awards

    • Recipients of each scholarship will be notified by the CTC Scholarship Committee.

    Payment of Scholarship Awards

    • Payments of scholarships are applied directly to the student's account.
