Lakes Principal Ray Kurtz

Hello Lancer Families! May is a busy and exciting month at Lakes High School. First, we are celebrating Certificated Employees Week from May 5–9—please join me in recognizing our amazing teachers, school nurses, and certificated staff for their dedication to our students. We’re also honoring Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness Month as we celebrate the strength, diversity, and well-being of our school community.

There are several meaningful events this month. Students can earn community service hours at the South Sound Wildlife Clean-Up on May 10 or by volunteering at CPSD booths during SummerFEST and Fiesta De La Familia. And don’t miss Clover Park High School’s powerful Arlington Project on May 21, honoring fallen service members. Please also remember, there is no school May 23 and May 26 for Memorial Day weekend.

Finally, I encourage all families to complete the annual CEE survey by May 9 to help improve our school. Your voice matters. As always, thank you for supporting our Lakes community—Go Lancers!
