Construction Tech Explores Surveying Skills

CiTi’s CTE Construction Technology students engaged in an authentic learning experience last week as Ianuzzi & Romans, P.C. brought the world of surveying and site development directly to campus.

Guided by industry professionals, students explored the tools and techniques used in the field — operating total stations, GPS equipment, and drones, while learning to interpret site plans, take precise measurements and define property boundaries.

“Partnerships like this give our students invaluable opportunities to apply what they learn in the classroom to real-world settings,” said Brian Heffron, Administrator of Workforce Development & Community Relations. “When industry professionals take the time to share their expertise, it helps students see the direct connection between their coursework and the careers they’re preparing for.”

This hands-on experience bridged classroom learning with real-world application, allowing students to see how math, geography and technology come together in shaping the built environment around us.
