D99's Very Own: Raja Mukherjee

"Unity, I can honestly say, is my dream job. The best part about all this, about being a counselor, is the journey that we go on with the kids. I just try to help them understand their potential and realize how powerful they are, and teach them to refuse to give up — refuse to stay down."

For two years, Raja Mukherjee has worked with Unity students dealing with some of life's most challenging battles — mental health struggles, family issues, school dilemmas and more. But, each day, he shows up to work with a smile and a can-do attitude — exactly what Unity and District administrators were looking for when trying to find the best fit for the role of guiding these students toward the right path in life.

For his committment and positive attitude, Mukherjee was recognized as Employee of the Month, and D99's Very Own, at yesterday's Board of Education meeting.
