Creating Earth Models

Our students recently embarked on an exciting journey to understand the layers of the Earth by creating their own Earth models. This hands-on activity was not only educational but also immensely engaging.

Utilizing a variety of materials such as clay, beads, sand, and cotton, each student crafted a model representing the different layers of our planet. The creative process involved arranging clay in distinct layers, symbolizing the Earth's strata. A highlight of the project was the students' moment of realization. One student's insightful remark, "So we're putting the clay on in layers? (Light bulb moment) Oh, wait! This is like the layers that Earth has!", sparked a collective 'aha' moment in the class.

The activity concluded with students drawing and labeling their models, further reinforcing their understanding of the Earth's structure. This project was not only a fun, interactive way to learn about geology but also a memorable experience that illuminated young minds with the joy of discovery.
